Gerard A. Vitti- President & CEO
Mr. Vitti is responsible for all strategic and business development activities at Healthcare Financial, Inc. (HFI), a company he co-founded that works with healthcare providers to connect low-income and disabled individuals, families, children and elderly with public health insurance benefits. Mr. Vitti brings to HFI twenty years of healthcare entrepreneurial and business operations experience in complex and ever-changing environments. His career path began as a Northeastern University senior when he submitted a business idea to a professor of small business finance. The plan was to assist healthcare providers in recovering Medicaid and other insurance receivables.
Immediately upon graduation from Northeastern University in 1986, Mr. Vitti operationalized his business idea by starting a company called Healthcare Financial Associates (HFA). HFA was the first company to offer accounts receivable assistance to long-term care providers and it grew to be a New England regional business.
For Mr. Vitti, the son of a social worker, it was natural to seek out an opportunity to directly help people in need. Anticipating that the national problem of the uninsured would largely be addressed through Medicaid expansion, HFA began programs to assist hospitals in enrolling uninsured patients into Medicaid. Healthcare Financial, Inc. was formed on January 1, 1999.
Mr. Vitti is a founding board member of the Long Term Care Finance Association and a current President of the Healthcare Financial Management Association Massachusetts-Rhode Island Chapter (President). He is also a board member of the Massachusetts Health Council and the Milton Parents Advisory Council . Mr. Vitti is a nationally recognized expert, speaker and author on healthcare reform, receivables management, Medicaid, free care enrollment and hospital revenue maximization.
Mr. Vitti is a resident of Milton Massachusetts with his wife and three children.

Pioneering work that he did in the Boston area was implemented statewide as the Medicaid spend-down program, bringing coverage to thousands of impoverished disabled and elderly Massachusetts residents.
Mr. Gennis graduated from Suffolk Law School in 1981 and opened a private practice to represent patients and Medicaid applicants. Mr. Gennis was soon retained by a number of eastern Massachusetts acute care facilities, maximizing Medicaid coverage for their needy patients.
Working with the Cambridge Hospital, Mr. Gennis developed a methodology for and implemented the first Medicaid payments for labor and delivery services for undocumented aliens. This program resulted in a $10 million annual benefit to hospitals.
Mr. Gennis has been admitted to the Massachusetts Bar, the Federal Bar and the Supreme Court of the United States of America. He is a member of the Massachusetts Society of Elder Law Attorneys, the Massachusetts Association of Patient Account Management, the Healthcare Financial Management Association and is a past president of St. Demetrios Greek Orthodox Church in Weston, MA.
